At least one woman is dead and a man and child seriously injured following a train crash in the US city of Baltimore.
Emergency crews are trying to free passengers following the accident involving a vehicle and an MTA Light Rail train.
Police have blocked off North Howard Street and West Saratoga Street after the crash.
All road and rail traffic has been stopped in the area.
The city’s fire department says multiple people are trapped.
Serious injuries have been reported, according to CBS Baltimore.
It is believed all of the injured were travelling in the car which collided with a train.
A reporter for WJZ Amy Kawata, who is at the scene, tweeted: “Light rail rescue underway downtown, North Howard Street and Mulberry Street.
“Reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Maryland Light Rail.
“Multiple people trapped. Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) on scene.
“Police just blocked off North Howard Street and West Saratoga Street.”
The crash is reported to have happened outside a Planned Parenthood clinic shortly after 8am local time (1pm UK time).
Officials said two Light Rail trains were coming in opposite directions when a car ran a red light, crashing into the trains.
Firefighters are still at the scene of the crash, where the car became wedged between the two train carriages.
The three people trapped in the car were a woman, a 30-year-old man and a seven-year-old child.
Both the man and the child were taken to hospitals where their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The woman tragically died at the scene.
