Travelodge opening: When is Travelodge reopening? Date revealed

Hotels across Britain will be allowed to open from July 4 according to an announcement made by the Government on Tuesday.

Mr Johnson said: “From July 4, provided that no more than two households stay together, people will be free to stay overnight in self-contained accommodation, including hotels and bed & breakfasts, as well as campsites as long as shared facilities are kept clean.”

The PM also said the two metre rule is due to be relaxed to “one metre plus” where two metres is not possible from July 4.

He said: “Mr Speaker, given the significant fall in the prevalence of the virus, we can change the two-metre social distancing rule, from July 4.

“I know this rule effectively makes life impossible for large parts of our economy, even without other restrictions.

“For example, it prevents all but a fraction of our hospitality industry from operating.”

Following the announcement on June 24, Travelodge issued the following statement which reads: “The UK Government has announced that hotels in England can reopen from 4th July, so we’ll be starting a phased reopening of our hotels in England for all customers from this date.

“Hotels in Wales and Scotland remain temporarily closed for customers until mid-July in line with the instructions from the Scottish Government and Welsh Assembly.

“We will be contacting customers with affected bookings by email. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

“We will of course start a phased reopening of our hotels in these countries as soon as we are able to do so.”

For those with existing bookings for stays on or after July 4, Travelodge said: “If you have a future booking in a hotel that will not be reopening in time for your stay, we will email you in advance of your stay date to let you know and refund your booking.

“We will also share details of which hotels are open should you wish to rebook at a different hotel.

“We will be working through affected bookings systematically on a day by day basis, and we will be in touch if your booking is affected.”

In regards to new books from July 4, two types of bookings will be possible: flexible rate bookings nd saver rate bookings.

Flexible rate bookings offers the most freedom to change bookings and it means you can cancel up to 12pm on the date of arrival and receive a refund.

Saver rate bookings are non-refundable but can be amended allowing you to change your arrival date.

Amendments must take place prior to 12pm on the original day of arrival.

The hotel operator has implemented several measures to keep staff, guests and their families safe.
