Tyson Fury and wife refused entry into bar in anti-gypsy attack

Tyson Fury has revealed he and his wife were refused entry to a UK bar at the height of his success after the venue placed a blanked ban on travellers and gypsies.

The former Heavyweight Champion of the world made the shocking admission to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

Speaking about the horrific murder of George Floyd in America which has sparked riots across the States and protests around the globe, Tyson said: “It is a terrible thing. A lot of riots are going on. They are trying to make a point.

“It shouldn’t be just a one day thing to post a black picture on Tuesday and then forget about it.

“Any day of the week, racism is unacceptable.”

Revealing how he has also has suffered discrimination due to his heritage, Tyson said: “I am a white male but I suffer racism as a white male because I am a gypsy and traveller.

“Even today you go into bars and some reserve the right not to let travellers in.

“It is still acceptable to be racist to travellers, nothing is said or done abut it. It is what it is.”

Calling for change, the sportsman continued: “It is terrible as you can’t tar everyone with the same brush.

“Even when I was World Heavyweight Champion I was refused entry with Paris (his wife) to a bar.

“I don’t want to go into where exactly because I don’t want to harm the business but yeah, it was in this country, it was in England.

“I know what it feels like. It was in 2016. Anyone can be a racist person, a person of any colour and any background. It needs to change.”
