UK holidays: England’s ‘best’ camping and caravan sites crowned – will you visit?

When guests aren’t getting cosy in their quaint pad, they can explore the surrounding traditional wildflower meadow, ancient woodland, and nearby pond.

All breaks are self-catered, but the owners do offer a range of food boxes and dining options to help make mealtimes easier.

Each cabin also comes complete with tea, coffee, sugar, a pint of milk, cereal and some kitchen condiments.

The Swallowtail Hill owners describe the site as a “little haven from the non-stop nature of our lives”.

They add: “Once you arrive you’ll discover that the farm is the perfect place to take life slowly for a while and enjoy the countryside.”

The campsite is similarly running a COVID-19 booking guarantee, as well as heightened cleaning procedures.

Taking home the “bronze” award in the category is Leicestershire’s Eye Kettleby Lakes.

The family-run fishery and farm is located close to the town of Melton Mowbray and boasts a touring park, along with glamping pods and cosy log cabins.

Each of the luxury log cabins on site is family-friendly and come with private hot tubs, meanwhile, both the touring park and glamping pods are adults-only areas.

“Our tranquil luxury park is the perfect destination for guests looking for a peaceful location with beautiful long walks, wildlife and scenery,” said the Lomas family who run the site.
