With the Valorant beta proving very popular and a slim chance of an open test being held later this summer, fans are looking to join as soon as they can. The bad news is that Riot Games only has a limited number of Valorant Beta Keys they can hand out, as they look to maintain server integrity. But a new update has confirmed that more is being done so that extra Valorant Beta Keys will be available during the weekend.
Valorant Beta Keys are being handed out to gamers who are watching special Twitch streams, using a Riot-linked Twitch account.
But there is only a certain amount of room available, with a recent message from Riot Games confirming:
“They work differently than Twitch’s regular drop program because we’re tracking and entitling for access on our databases (so we can apply another layer of scrutiny).
“You need to link your Riot account with your Twitch account and start watching VALORANT Twitch streams with drops enabled.
“Once you’ve passed a certain threshold of a couple hours watched on those streams (it’s roughly 2 and we are tracking by total VALORANT stream view time), you’re eligible for a Closed Beta entitlement drop.”
“That said, everyone else who has watched at least a few hours of streams is also eligible, and we have limited slots on our servers.”
The good news is that Riot has confirmed that they are expanding server capacity this weekend and that should mean more people getting access.
“Drops are running 24/7. If you’ve watched a lot… take a break! CB access comes even when you’re offline,” Riot confirms.
“We hear you on demand. We’ve already increased CB server capacity +25% and are tracking down more internet.”
On another note, Valorant has confirmed that they have started to ban accounts that have been sold.
And this means that those Closed Beta Keys can now be used by others via Twitch Drops.
“We’ve banned a pile of Valotrant closed beta account sellers and botters to free up more entitlements. Tracking more. Don’t buy accounts, you might lose them,” Riot adds.
