This week’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare update is packed with new content for all players on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Launching on June 29 across all platforms, COD gamers will soon have access to a new multiplayer map, modes, and weapon.
But not only will players be able to enjoy the latest contracts and rewards in-game but they will also find a massive new Call of Duty Warzone mode waiting for them.
A 200-player Warzone mode is being released this week as part of the patch, which is expected to prove very popular.
It will be the highest player count ever offered in a Call of Duty Battle Royale experience and will only be available for a limited time.
The 200-player Warzone mode will be available to play in teams of four (Quads) and will offer the same rules as a normal game.
The only difference is that there will be now 50 teams spread across the map, making for more intense encounters.
Prepared to get third-partied a lot more over the coming week!
“Captain Price needs you all this week – especially as the Armistice alliance is all but broken with infighting between Allegiance and Coalition forces threatening to cause chaos across Verdansk – so here is your emergency briefing:
“With this update, Verdansk will now be able to hold up to 200 players in Battle Royale Quads. That means 50 Quads of Operators fighting each other and the encroaching circle collapse.
“This new player count makes Warzone an even bigger Battle Royale experience, so get ready to drop in alongside 199 other members of this millions-strong community to cause havoc.”
The only downside to this week’s big Call of Duty patch is that it’s going to take a little while to download and install.
Activision has warned that its next update will require up to 36GB in space, although it shouldn’t add this much to the overall install size of the game.
Console players who only have the free-to-play version of COD Warzone may even see the overall size drop, which might make it a little easier to fit other games on your Xbox or PS4.
“Please note that the Season Four Reloaded update will have a download size of approximately 22-36 GB for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare,” the message from Infinity Ward adds.
“Console owners must install a secondary download of approximately 3.5GB, then reboot the game to access Multiplayer, if desired.
“A reminder, console players can choose also to uninstall/remove other data packs (e.g. Special Operations), if no longer needed for a smaller overall file size. For detailed information on uninstalling/removing other data packs, read this article.
“Once the Season Four Reloaded update is fully completed, it should minimally increase the overall digital footprint of the full version of Modern Warfare.
“Existing free-to-play Warzone players will have a download size of approximately 22GB-30GB, once finished there will be a reduction to the overall footprint on their machines.”
Other changes coming to Warzone this week include a new contract, Juggernaut Mode and a special scope for Snipers.
