What issues are the Fortnite team currently working on?

In a game as complex as Fortnite, there are always going to be bugs and glitches. Here are some of the most important problems that Epic Games are currently looking into.

Following the addition of Choppas, locker loadouts and more in v12.20, it’s likely that any update this week will focus mainly on performance issues. The Fortnite Community Issues Trello board details everything they are working on, but here are some of the key things that will hopefully be fixed in the next patch.

FPS drops

Since the beginning of Season 2, players across all platforms have been reporting an increase in occurrences of FPS drops. This is something that Epic are aware of and are trying to find a solution for. With the Fortnite Champion Series now fully underway, performance needs to be the best that it can be, so hopefully this gets handled swiftly.

Harpoon Gun

One of the few brand-new items added in Fortnite Chapter 2, the Harpoon Gun is handy for a number of reasons. Not only can you use it to quickly catch fish and deal damage, but it can also help to reel in loot that you would otherwise not be able to reach. At least, that was until the most recent patch. Since then the Harpoon Gun has not been catching loot as it is supposed to, which is a blow to both casual and competitive players.

Tournament points

Just in time for the start of FNCS and the return of Cash Cups, the in-game points feature stopped working. Currently, although it is still recorded, players scores visually disappear and reset to 0 after each match. Epic Games suggested work around is to check your score on the specific event’s leaderboard, however this can be a bit clunky and hard to find. Luckily, we have you covered, head over to the events tab on Fortnite Tracker to keep track of your performance.
