Microsoft has released a new Insider preview build of Windows 10 – 19582.1001 – that’s currently available to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. The new software introduces two major improvements to the PC software in addition to a host of general changes and fixes.
First and foremost, the Redmond-based tech giant is improving its Eye Control feature for Windows 10 that, as the name suggests, lets users control the operating system using only their eyes with supported devices.
The latest Windows 10 build updates the settings for Eye Control with options now available on multiple pages to make them a little easier to navigate.
By far the most substantial new features in 19582.1001 come to Microsoft’s Your Phone app though, specifically for those using a member of Samsung’s new Galaxy S20 family or the Galaxy Z Flip.
If you’re a proud owner of Samsung’s newest foldable flagship, or grabbed yourself the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ or Galaxy S20 Ultra since its UK launch on Friday, you’ll be able to copy and paste images or text from your PC to smartphone or vice versa.
Additionally, Microsoft is also introducing support for Rich Communication Services (RCS) that’ll replace traditional SMS when messaging friends or family on your PC.
If you haven’t heard of RCS, here’s a quick rundown. The platform is essentially the next evolution of SMS and allows users to chat over Wi-Fi in addition to mobile data. One of the biggest benefits is certainly the ability to send the likes of high resolution photos and videos at a much quicker pace. You can also see when someone is responding to your message, just like a host of third-party chatting apps out there, too.

Safe to say, RCS is a pretty substantial upgrade over traditional SMS. Its only real omission is the fact it doesn’t support end-to-end encryption like WhatsApp or iMessage, for instance.
Finally, users of Samsung’s newest devices are also now able to turn their phone screen off when using the Your Phone app, meaning you won’t have to worry about precious battery life being drained if you’re using your PC.
Announcing the new features for Your Phone, Microsoft said: “Continuing our strong partnership with Samsung from last August, we’re excited to introduce exciting new features, which are now available on the latest Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/S20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip devices in select markets.
