Xbox One games list has been dealt a blow with an exclusive heading to the rival PS4 console, but the Nintendo Switch has missed out. The Xbox One has lagged behind the PS4 this generation, with Sony’s console handily outselling Microsoft’s machine. Xbox One sales figures are not revealed any more, but it is believed to have sold around 47million units since launching back in November 2013.

In comparison the PS4 has sold 108.9million units, making it the second best selling home console of all time.

Even the Nintendo Switch, which was released three and a half years after the Xbox One, has sold more than Microsoft’s console is estimated to have.

Recent figures have revealed the Nintendo Switch has sold over 52million units.

There are many reasons that can explain why the PS4 has significantly outsold the Xbox One.

But the biggest reason is arguably the selection of exclusives on both consoles.

The PS4 has an enviable selection of exclusives games.

From God of War, to Uncharted 4, to Bloodborne, to Spider-Man, to Persona 5, to Horizon Zero Dawn, to Gran Turismo Sport, to Death Stranding – the list goes on.

The great selection of PS4 exclusives is highlighted by how three of this year’s biggest games are PlayStation 4 exclusives.

These titles are the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima.

The Xbox One does have some great exclusives, but these are fewer and farther between.

But fret not, it isn’t a title such as Halo 5, Forza Horizon 3 or Gears of War 5 that will be playable on the PS4.

Instead it’s indie title Below which was an exclusive for the Xbox One and PCs for over a year.
