Sir Patrick Vallance analysed a number of charts and graphs during the coronavirus daily briefing today. The data showed that COVID-19 coronavirus cases and deaths are beginning to fall as Britain’s tough lockdown measures start to pay off. However, a sharp increase in the number of British people that are travelling by motor vehicle has sparked fears that Britons could blow the Government’s coronavirus strategy.
The Chief Scientific Adviser said: “This is the transport use showing the reduction that has maintained down.
“It is these sorts of changes the fact that we have managed to keep our social distancing going that has meant that the transmission of the virus in the community has reduced.
“The transmission force of the virus is below one meaning that one person will be on average infecting fewer than one other person.
“That is an important change.”
