James Martin, 47, has opened up about his regrets over missing out on starting a family. The chef explained that he has “given up everything” for his career, which includes a ten-year hosting stint on Saturday Kitchen, three restaurants and presenting his ITV show Saturday Morning.
James spoke out about the sacrifices he has made for his work in a candid interview in the May issue of Prima magazine.
The star divulged: “The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it.
“I look at my mates and they’re all married with kids, and that’s not the case for me because I’ve been so focused on work.
“The level of commitment it requires and the choices you have to make have a huge impact.”

“That puts you in a much better place in your head, and in life. In many ways, it feels like I’ve got my life back.”
Elsewhere, James stepped in to help an elderly care home resident in Chorley, Lancashire this week, after empty supermarket shelves have left people struggling to find food during the coronavirus pandemic.
The TV personality was moved to help the resident after he saw a heartbreaking video in which 92-year-old Lillian begged people to stop stockpiling food.
James explained Lillian reminded him of his late grandmother and tracked down her care home to send a food package.
