More than 3 million Norwegians have now received the first dose of the corona vaccine

A total of 3,027,057 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Norway, according to the FHI’s statistics on Friday. Furthermore, 1,590,323 people have received the second dose.

As of Friday, 56.1% of the population have thus received the first dose, and 29.5% of the population are fully vaccinated.

On Thursday, 62,809 people received the first dose, and 8,416 people received the second dose.

The first dose of the corona vaccine (Pfizer and BioNTech) was administered in Norway on December 27, 2020. On January 15, the first dose of the Moderna vaccine was administered, and on February 7, the AstraZeneca vaccine was introduced. 

On March 11, the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine was suspended. Then, on May 12, the Norwegian government announced that it would be permanently withdrawn from the country’s vaccination program due to the risk of severe blood clots.
