Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas, 60, has spoken out after undergoing emergency treatment at A&E this week. It comes after she sliced her hand open on glass on Monday in a horror accident.
The professional dancer had previously informed her 186,000 Instagram followers that her wound was being checked for glass fragments by medics, who were in the process of deciding whether her tendons needed “sewing up” at the time.
After getting home from the hospital, Shirley shared a video of her hand wrapped in blue plastic while making the most of her outdoor swimming pool during the heatwave yesterday.
The dance expert explained she had to have seven stitches due to her injury.
The BBC star told fans: “Since this has got seven stitches in it now and it’s going to be poorly and not well for a while. But watch this space.”

“It’s been a bizarre morning,” she added, before thanking fans for their messages.
It’s not the first time the dancer has been hospitalised in recent weeks.
Last month, the mother-of-one told fans she had been back and forth to hospital after a health scare.
Doctors found what appeared to be a ganglion cyst or a tumour in her shoulder and are investigating.
She explained: “I am going backwards and forwards to the hospital all the time.
“I feel I seem to be getting sicker by the minute. I can’t seem to get up and out.”
Speaking of her cyst, she told The Mirror: “They are not really sure what it is yet.
“They’ve done the dye and the MRIs and this and that.”
The dancer revealed she had been reassured by medical professionals that “it will be fine,” but admitted she was still worried.
Shirley will be getting her results “in a few weeks” time.
