Coronation Street actress Ruxandra Porojnicu had a major transformation this week, looking drastically different from her soap character Alina Pop.
That’s because she made an appearance as a model on BBC makeup competition series Glow Up, with contestant Eve giving her a terrifying makeover.
This week on the show, the remaining contestants – Eve, James, Ophelia, Berny and Hannah – were tasked with getting to grips with prosthetics.
After a mini-challenge on the set of Holby City, getting some extras camera ready with various injuries like bruises and broken noses, the makeup artists, or MUAs, had to share their own phobias with the final challenge.
Each MUA was given a model, with Romanian actress Ruxandra taking some time away from her soap job for the BBC gig.
She sat down in Eve’s chair with a fresh face and her raven locks pulled back away from her stunning features.
Salon makeup artist Eve got to work showing her fear through Ruxandra’s face, applying an underwater-themed prosthetic, reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Eve transformed Ruxandra into someone who looked like they’d been pulled up from the bottom of the ocean, soaking her her and placing strands across her face.
The talented artist was safe thanks to her precision and made it through to next week’s episode.
On Instagram, Eve shared a snapshot of the look as well as her thoughts on the episode.
She said: “Inspired obviously by Joel Harlow who designed Bootstrap Bill for Pirates of the Caribbean.
“I did want them to look less similar however the only suitable prosthetic I could get in time was a bootstrap starfish.
“I love this look and (although it didn’t seem like it) I am proud.”
Ruxandra returned to Corrie this year as Alina following the human trafficking storyline last year.
But her character Alina came back and discovered her ex-boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) was in a new relationship.
Glow Up is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, with new episodes on Thursday evenings
