The Nintendo Switch is getting games that were formerly exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One
Nintendo Switch fans have been delivered some surprise news with former exclusives for the PS4 and Xbox One set to appear on the hybrid console. The Nintendo Switch has been a smash hit for the House of Mario ever since it launched over three years ago. The hit hybrid console has sold – at last count – over 52million units, making it one of Nintendo’s best selling home consoles of all time.
A large part of its appeal is undoubtedly its unique hybrid design, offering home and portable gaming in one tidy package.
But the Switch wouldn’t be an attractive proposition if it didn’t have the games to back it up, and it does have plenty of must-have titles.
From Breath of the Wild, to Super Mario Odyssey, to Pokemon, to Animal Crossing, to Mario Kart, to Fire Emblem – the list goes on and on.
And it has emerged that the Switch’s enviable games list is being bolstered even further.
This year the Nintendo Switch will be getting two titles that were formerly exclusives to rival consoles.
Next month will mark the worldwide release of Disaster Report 4 Summer Memories.
On April 7 the English language-versions of the latest Disaster Report game will launch on both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
And ahead of the game’s release a free demo of the latest Disaster Report game can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop.
However, the Granzella-developed game was originally a PS4 exclusive – launching in Japan only on the PlayStation 4 back in 2018.
Previous entries in the Disaster Report series were only for PlayStation consoles also, with the latest game the first to appear on other formats.
But that’s not the only former rival console exclusive that will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
The other title that will be its way onto the Nintendo Switch is first-person horror title Blair Witch which is launching this summer.
Based on the trail-blazing found footage horror from the 90s, Blair Witch was a former console exclusive to the Xbox One.
It has since been released on the PS4 and it is now coming to the Nintendo Switch this summer.
The release of Blair Witch for the Switch was announced in the recent Indie World Showcase Direct broadcast on Tuesday.
That stream announced a tonne of games including The Last Campfire from No Man’s Sky makers Hello Games and cute life-sim Summer In Mara.
Other titles announced during the Indie World stream were Exit the Gungeon, anime-inspired RPG Baldo and cute-em-up Bark.
Here are more details on the former console exclusives coming to the Nintendo Switch…
