Details such as pictures or location check-ins are likely to help the DWP to establish whether a person’s account matches the details of their benefit claim.

If a person is suspected of benefit fraud, they will be contacted by the authority who is responsible for the relevant benefit.

A person’s benefit may be stopped while an investigation takes place, and they could be visited by Fraud Investigation Officers who will attempt to find out more about the situation.
